About
Satkirin Kaur Khalsa is one of the most beloved Western Gurbani Kirtan artists in the world, with eighteen Kirtan albums to date. Her music weaves Latin and world rhythms together with Western melody and Indian classical raag — a fusion she sees as proof that Gurbani Kirtan is a soul language uniting cultures and people.
She began studying Kundalini Yoga directly with Yogi Bhajan in 1970 and helped found the 3HO Kundalini Yoga Ashram in San Diego. Her study of Gurbani Kirtan began on her first trip to India and deepened at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, where she trained and performed with renowned ragi singers. Appointed a Sikh Minister by Yogi Bhajan in 1974, she has served the Los Angeles and Manhattan Gurdwaras, teaches Gurmukhi, and leads chanting at the annual 3HO Summer and Winter Solstice gatherings.
