Vaishnavism / Bhakti Yoga

ॐ नमो नारायणाय

Om Namo Narayanaya

Om Namo Nārāyaṇāya

""I bow to Narayana (Vishnu) — the supreme refuge and ground of all being""

Full Translation

Known as the Ashtakshara, the "eight-syllable" mantra, this is the principal mantra of Vaishnavism. It is addressed to Narayana — the form of Vishnu who rests upon the cosmic ocean as the preserver and ultimate shelter of all creation. As a complete prayer of surrender, it offers reverence to the divine that pervades and sustains everything.
