ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ॥

Full Translation

This mantra affirms the eternal reality of truth: "True in the primal beginning (aad sach), true throughout the ages (jugaad sach), true here and now (hai bhee sach), O Nanak, truth shall ever be (hosee bhee sach)." It is a meditation on the one thing that does not change.

Spiritual Significance

In Kundalini Yoga this is taught as a mantra for removing blocks — when life feels stuck, chanting the eternal constancy of truth is said to dissolve the obstacles standing between the practitioner and their flow. It anchors the mind in what is permanent when circumstances feel precarious.

Cultural Context & History

The verse follows the Mool Mantar at the opening of Guru Nanak's Japji Sahib and reappears in Sukhmani Sahib. Western Kundalini musicians including GuruGanesha Singh with Snatam Kaur, and Satkirin Kaur Khalsa, have recorded devotional settings of it.
