Full Translation

*Kaal* means the finite — that which is bound by time and death; *Akaal* means the infinite, the undying, the deathless. *Akaal Moorat* is the form of our being that exists beyond death. Chanting it affirms our connection to the timeless Self that death cannot touch.

Spiritual Significance

Described by Yogi Bhajan as a protective "ashtang" mantra, said to wrap a shield of protective energy around the one who chants it; it is also chanted to help free and elevate the soul.
